This post is one of the older ones here on the site, and as you can tell by this site&#039;s design/layout, we&#039;re built fixed for wider than 800x600. :D The times change, eh? lol

That said, I still think it&#039;s important to take a look at your audience or target audience when making this decision. If I thought that most of the people coming to this site would have resolutions of 800x600 ONLY, then I&#039;d have made the minimum width narrower and likely fluid.

Put it this way, you could design a fantastic fixed 1200+ wide layout that looks gorgeous. But if your target mainly uses 1024, then they&#039;re missing out on over 200 pixels of your site unless they do the horizontal scroll... and no one likes that!</description>
